Pat Meckfessel relocated to the West Texas border in 2016 by way of New York City and Dallas. With a Bachelor of Science from Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from FIT, she practiced as a licensed interior designer for over 30 years. Now she is a full-time artist, doing what she always wanted to do. Her work focuses on the relationship of people to the desert flora and fauna of West Texas, and is primarily oil on canvas.
Recent shows include Desert Muse at Marfa Studio of Arts, Lone Star Art Show in Dallas, and featured interviewed artist at Gallery On The Square/Big Bend Arts Council in Alpine. One of her pieces was chosen for the Art In The Time of Crisis Show at Columbia University, April 2021.
